As the boat docked, the new Mark Twain Memorial Bridge, completed in 2000,
was backlit by the sunset reflected off clouds. This view is toward the northwest.
Aside from a few brief showers, the weather was fine throughout the conference. However, when
Tim Champlin and I left for St. Louis on Sunday morning, we almost immediately passed through
a heavy electrical storm. Henry later told me that another storm knocked out the Internet
in Hannibal on Monday.
