Joe and Ellie Curtis, proprietors of C Street's Mark Twain
Bookstore inspect Mark
Twain A to Z, which
they consult daily. Their store offers one of the largest assortments
of Mark Twain materials--including books in and out of print--under
one roof anywhere. It also has a large number of books, papers,
and ephemeral materials relating to Nevada history, the opening
of the West, and local mining. A virtual museum of historical relics
line the store's walls. The store is in one of the few remaining
Virginia City structures built in 1862. (Visit the Curtises' store
