Other interesting facts about Bill's career:
- Bill began his theatrical career as ventriloquist
Edgar Bergen's stage manager for Bergen's 1941 tour of the country. Bill
dryly recalls, "I was in charge of the dummies."
- Bill relates that his first job in show
business was when he was 4 or 5 years old, as a children's underwear model
for Munsingwear. The company put on a "traveling fashion shows"
in small towns and he won his first starring role.
